Are your bags all packed, or are you still planning your Indian dental vacation? While you may have jotted down your ‘to-do list’, did you know there are a few things you should avoid? Dr. Priyank Mathur from Smilekraft Dentistry offers his tips to make your journey all the more worthwhile.

  • Tip #1: Don’t overdo it, take it easy We understand you’re travelling from far and are excited about the sights, sounds and the presence of so many people! You want to see and do as much as possible. However, its best to avoid crowding too many tours and activities. For complex procedures like dental implants or multiple extractions, you’d want to be in top shape and not exhausted from all the travel and partying.

  • Tip #2: Don’t cram your dental work in one short trip There may be multiple marketing gimmicks claiming to complete even the longest procedures in a single sitting. Don’t fall prey to such claims! Be realistic when it comes to time frames for your dental procedures. A week may be good enough for a crown or veneer, but certainly not for a full smile makeover. You wouldn’t want your dentist to rush things and not do a good job.

  • Tip #4: The S’s you should avoid Sun: We know you’ve been looking forward to getting a good tan, but certain antibiotics may make you and your teeth extra sensitive to the sun and delay healing.

Spice: Your stomach may be able to handle spicy Indian food, but this may irritate your teeth and gums. Its best to stick to soft foods.

Sodas: Sipping on sodas and colas while on holiday may not be the best idea post surgery.
All the best, and we hope you have a good experience restoring your smile!
